Women are more inclined towards an active lifestyle than in the past.

The results of a survey carried out by Sport England show that the number of adults in the UK leading an active lifestyle has increased by almost half a million over the past year. According to sports organizations, one of the reasons for this increase is women's participation in sports and regular exercise.

The gap between active men and women narrowed from 352,000 to 258,000 over the past 12 months, the report said. Women who lead an active and healthy lifestyle do about 150 minutes of physical activity each week, bringing their number to 280,000.

During this period, the number of inactive and sedentary women also saw a significant decrease, which is about 146,000. However, men still tend to be more inclined towards an active and healthy lifestyle than women.

The survey, conducted in England, involved 176,000 people and found that 61% of women lead an active lifestyle compared to 65% of men. Sports England chief executive Tim Hollingsworth believes things are looking up. "The gender disparity in sports and physical exercise has narrowed. However, it still does not attract everyone," he said.

Tim Hollingsworth added, "It wouldn't be right or fair to say that it's impossible for low-income people, women, blacks and South Asians to be active." are being done to encourage all members of the society to lead active and healthy lives.

"I want us to continue to promote this sector and ensure that all members of society, regardless of colour, race or gender, can live active and healthy lives." "Sport England" launched the "The Girl Can" campaign in 2015 to encourage more women to take part in sport. A year after the campaign launched, 2.8 million young girls and women reported that they became more active as a result.
